Croissant Monkland in Montreal

The food, the service and the ambiance are incredible. The only reason I am giving a 4 star is because their coffee products (latte, cappuccino, etc.) leave something to be desired.

Great food and coffee. Staff are welcoming and pleasant.

If you are looking good baguette and delicious chocolate and hazelnut cakes this is where you need to go!

Went to the shop with a friend to have a small dessert at 8:30 pm. We asked if they were open for service since they were clearing everything out. They said they were but they looked like they wished they weren't. People were coming in and out, some sitting and eating but they just had a scowl on their faces the whole time. One of them came up to us to say they were closed while I was midway to putting a piece of the pastry in my mouth. I asked if I could finish, she rolled her eyes and reluctantly said yes. It wasn't even 2 minutes later the other clerk told us they were closed again while I was choking down the last pieces of the food. Look, I know you wanna go home but don't have us sit down and start the food if you can't let us finish. Unprofessional and just plain horrible service.

Great local bakery with the right amount of baked goods to choose from while sipping your morning coffee. It's a small place if you try to eat there, but people clear fairly quickly. I would recommend going on off hours of the day to get a good seat if you're more than 2. The prices are what you'd expect and the service is quick and friendly.Plus, if you decide to eat on the spot, you get a side salad to go with your chosen crêpe/omelette/quiche/croque-monsieur, etc.

Bright, with fresh bread scent in the air. A wonderful place for lunch or breakfast. Had the toasted Saucisson sandwich and enjoyed it very much. Cool to peek in the back and see some of the breads being prepared. Also 11:00 am Sept 16 staff was so friendly and energetic! Felt very relaxed and respected while ordering. Will come again.

Awesome tarts, croissants are good too, staff is friendly, its clean and tidy. Coffee is good.

I didn't try too much things but the éclaire and crème brûlée..was so dreamy delicious .

Lovely bakery/patisserie with great variety of sweet and salty options. One of my favourite croissants in the city; chocolate almond croissant one of my favourite desserts. It's an absolute shame that the Monkland location closed down, but at least it exists still here at Sherbrooke.

Great croissants and chocolatines. Recently tried the sourdough bread and it was fantastic. The lattes are also really good—I always get one whenever I go. Staff are friendly and helpful! It can get a little crowded as there sometimes isn’t enough seating to accommodate everyone but that’s never really been an issue as seats open up quickly enough.

Great pastry shop with lots of choices. Everything from sandwiches to desserts and croissants - everything is fresh. Really really good coffee too. 4/5 stars because prices are a bit high.Day old pastries are reduced 50% and bd probably taste better because the flavours blend and develop more.

It was awsome. My husband and I really enjoyed our brunch. It is the best brunch I’ve ever had!!

Absolutely LOVE this place!!! Best almond croissant ever!!! Always consistent. One of my favourite places to visit when in Montreal. Place is bright and relaxing. Bathroom is clean. staff has always been nice when I’m there. Highly recommend for a treat and fresh baked bread.

Good food, nice staff, and great atmosphere! The croissants are excellent and the soups are delicious. There's lots of other good stuff, too. It's usually full early in the morning, because it's a popular breakfast spot, but calsm down later.

Speaking personally: this makes my top 5 spots for baked goods in Montréal. Fantastically rich and buttery pastries—and it’s not pumped up to overly inflated prices. There’s so many “meh” croissants in the NDG area. Not so with Croissant Monkland.

Everything I have had here is delicious. Noticeably very high quality.The service is impeccable as well. Always a pleasant experience.Diana, one of their employees, even served me with a smile after her shift was over to help her coworkers during a rush. Clearly a model employee who cares about the smooth running of the business.

I love this place! Fresh and affordable. The breads baked here are fantastic. Soup, coffee, sandwich, desserts... OMG, I love everything from this place. The employees are very nice.

Great place for a quick meal but also for pastries or cakes to take home. Seating very cramped, not the place to sit for hours with a book or laptop.

Look no further, Croissant Monkland is one of the best places I've been to taste them -my French teacher suggested me to attend for a nice pice of Canada and he was not mistaken. Mangez-vous un coissant ici et bouviez, aussi, un cafe!

First time being there, the pastries were fresh and they have a nice variety with many options. Staff polite and quick, nice service! Will be back for sure!

Such a cute little spot on Monkland. We decided to stop on after driving by. The staff was friendly and was super patient with us as we took some time to order. Even though it was close to closing time, there was still plenty of variety. We purchased some sweets and a loaf of bread and they were all delicious!

1st visit-Initially- fair comments only; lox so thin it tore when lifted by fork. The bagel not fresh of the day; girl suggested "toasting"- clearly evidence of frozen or day++ old bagels.
